I love to write more than anything but it’s been really hard to focus at night when I get home from my awful job and all I want to do is get my butt on the couch and turn on the http://www.satellitetvfamily.com/satellite-tv-lexington-ky so I can veg out. I love doing what I do but I wish there was a way for me to make money writing so I wouldn’t have to face this long commute and my boss, ugh, my boss. Anyway, writing is what makes me feel alive inside and there are definitely days when I wonder why I didn’t major in creative writing or something like that in college. I just wish I had known then what I know now but you know, there’s no way to look back and have regrets about something like that. For now I guess I need to just keep carving out time for writing and making sure I keep my craft alive so that one day I don’t look down and feel like a terrible writer!

It is really tied up with actual stats of players so if a certain player you drafted scores high in the actual NBA games, you’re in luck. On the other hand, if a player is injured “as in injured in real life”, then the player of course will not gain scores and therefore you “team” stats also suffer.

Previously, the NBA fantasy game is done by hand where people write the actual scores and keep tab manually. But with the advent of internet, everything is now automated.

I visited wildbluedeals.com when I was at work and looked into getting satellite internet. I printed off the information and convinced my husband that it was finally time to get satellite internet. It took forever to convince him that we could use the internet for more than mailing. He just insisted that talking on the phone to our family was always better than e-mailing. Now, I think that he is eating his words, because he loves it. He has reconnected with some of his friends from college and they stay in touch through e-mail. He also loves to look at pictures on his brother’s blog and follow our two nephews in the sports world. His brother always posts pictures of them playing baseball. My husband is a baseball enthusiast and loves seeing the pictures and reading their stats. Living so far away, the internet helps us stay connected to our family and friends. Getting satellite internet was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. My husband definitely agrees that he was all wrong.

A friend of mine is from Alabama and he’s a fan of Crimson Tide. I’m not that familiar with Alabama basketball. Although I know that Mo Williams played for the University of Alabama. After a little bit of research, I found out that some great players were also from Alabama. Players like Richard Hendrix, Keith Askins, James Robinson, Buck Johnson, Mykal Riley just to name a few.

I do collect caps and shirts so I started looking Alabama apparel in google. This friend of mine owed me one because I helped him with some tech stuff (HTML/PHP) so would it be a big deal if I ask him if he can treat me with one of those University of Alabama shirts?

The other day, I met my friend over dinner and I showed him a photo of that grey shirt and started saying, “Hey, would it be nice if a good friend of mine would send me one of these”. And we started laughing. Of course it worked. He said he’ll send it to me once he’s back home. Awesome dude!

That’s another shirt on my collection. Well I do hope this collection of mine would be worth something someday. But I guess it’s not as big of a value compared to real collectible items, specially the ones that was signed by some player who then become NBA superstars. I guess it would be worth a lot to have a signed shirt back when an NBA superstar is still a nobody. And I guess it will be better if you got a photo of the guy signing your shirt as it becomes a great documentation or proof of its authenticity.

Hmm… to all Alabama basketball fans. Who do you think would become the next NBA superstar? I guess that’s the right person to have my shirt signed.

Having a little girl is the best thing that I ever did. I’ve always been a huge girly girl and having my daughter Emily just brought that out in me any more. I’m glad that she loves to dress up just as much as her mommy because we have a whole lot of fun with it. I also love to take her shopping too.

I was online talking to my mom with my http://www.get.wildblue.com/ not too long ago when I was reading about all the rain she was having at home. I thought about how Emily could use some rain gear since she’s growing so quickly and I took her shopping to look for some.

When we were at one of my favorite stores that has clothing in both of our sizes, I found these really cute pink polka dot umbrellas and they even had one in a size perfect for a little girl too. So I just couldn’t resist buying one for each of us. Then it rained the day right after that so we were both able to carry our matching umbrellas!

I’ve recently visited a patient and as I pass along the corridors, I hear their TVs tuned into NBA. Even patients are watching the championship games. Guess, what, even nurses have their own way of getting NBA information. They check the NBA website for updates.

I heard one nurse said, if she finds an NBA scrub, she’ll buy one because all they have are the usual scrubs like this http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/. And she said if it’s ok for the hospital’s management to have one day where they can choose their own uniform, she’ll definitely wear an NBA themed scrub.

Come to think of it, I haven’t really seen an NBA scrub. If you think about it, there are thousands of scrub wearing people. From doctors, dentist, nurses, and other medical practitioners. It could be a good niche to target. Nobody else is doing it, well, at least I’m not aware of anybody.

Hmm…. I’d better start doing some market research on this and see if there indeed is a demand for it.

I’ve been looking around for while, window shopping on the net and let my fingers to the searching. So far, I’m down to 3. I’m going for either an Asics sneakers, the Nike lunar glide, or this Nike Shox Turbo 10.

Asics Gel

From Asics’ line up, what I like the most is this black Asics Gel. I like the contours and design and it will blend well with all my jeans. You’ll never really go wrong with a neutral color like black. Plus, even if it’s dirty and you haven’t cleaned it up for a while, you can get away with it ‘coz it’s black.

Nike Shox Turbo

Next is the Nike shox turbo. So for this one, I really like the shock absorbers. Others don’t like it but for me I really like it. I suppose a big company like Nike has invested a lot in research and development to come up with those shocks. I know it’s been years since its out in the market but I haven’t really got the chance to buy one for myself.

Nike Lunar Glide

Lastly, the Nike Lunar Glide. I’m quite intrigued by their slogan “It’s actually rocket science”. The 1st time it went out in the market, I was tempted to buy this one. But the logical mind of mine told me that I don’t need it. These marketers really did a great job of making you buy one by using clever marketing tricks to wet your “appetite”.

Check this play of words “Boasting ultra-light, ultra-strong Flywire and the next generation of LunarLite system technology, the men’s LunarGlide+ combines a soft core within a firmer carrier to achieve a previously unattainable blend of cushioning and response from heel to toe. ” Now who doesn’t want that.

Words such as ultra, light, strong, next generation, technology are really powerful selling words.

In social events, I usually see one of those velvet ropes like this

This can easily manage some small crowds and typically used on formal events.   But I like the stanchions that they use in banks.  The retractable ones like the one below.

When it comes to lines and queues to events such as basketball,  some aren’t that civilized and doesn’t really follow lines.    The last big game we had, was this very long queue and what usually happens is that, since the venue didn’t implement some sort of line and crowd  control such as the ones above,  some people managed to sneak their way in.

Usually the ones that sneak their way in are friends and acquantances of the people who are in the front of the lines.  They get it, have a long chit-chat/small talk with their friends for like 10 minutes and before you know it,  they’re already part of the line.

Yeah it sucks, but that’s what happens usually.  The problem is that, these people come in droves and the lines are usually in an area where there is huge foot traffic and therefore you don’t exactly know if the people just passed by and suddenly seen a friend in line and will just go their way after a few small chat  or the’re really out there to sneak their way into the lines via their friends.

I know this is a basketball blog but I just tried watching football (not the american football).  It was a game under the Bulgarian Premeir League.  In other countries, it is called “soccer” but in Europe, it’s “football”.

Anyway, I was watching it online via livestream from one of those video sharing sites.  Unfortunately, the commentators were not using English so I was kinda lost in some points so I was searching a way to “follow” the live scoring while watching it online.  (Geez, these online livestreams aren’t that good quality).

I came across this livescore site called wsn.com.  Incidentally, they’re also bookmakers  for those are into that. It was a nice site for checking out livescores and I don’t even have to “refresh” my browser.  I just leave it open while I watch.  Kinda cool if you ask me.

So for the Litex Lovech vs Lokomotiv Mezdra resuts, I was able to do a screen capture of the livescore and posted it above.  Wow  3-0.  Nice one Litex Lovech.

 

Due to this remark, the NBA’s executive vice prediced of operations Mr. Stu Jackson announced a fine $25,000 dollar.  Whew!  That’s a huge amount for a couple of remarks by a player.

Andrew Bynum only scored two of his 10 points in the 2nd half.  Apart from that, he had 11 rebounds and about 5 turnovers.
