The San Antonio Spurs cheated their way to the Western Conference Finals. The Phoenix Suns were robbed-off of three games in this series due to unfortunate turn of events, horrible one-sided officiating and stupid decision making by NBA league officials.
Game One could have gone to the Suns if not for Steve Nash sitting out the most crucial final minute of the game due to a nasty cut on his nose. He had a prior collision with Tony Parker. “Blind” Spurs fans call the Suns as a bunch of whiners, but aren’t San Antonio players more of the crybabies?! Duncan is a constant complaining baby. Even with the obvious fouls he has committed, he persistently shows the refs his patented wide-eyed-I-did-not-commit-any-foul-and-that-was-normal-physical-defense look. Please!
How about Manu Ginobili, Fabricio Oberto, Francisco Elson and Bruce Bowen, they are more of actors than basketball players. They flop their way to getting bad calls from dumb refs, and they appear to be in extreme pain when they receive slight hits and bumps. Whiners!
When the collision between Parker and Nash happened, Parker seemed to have received the worse end of the blow, lying down on the floor like he was in extreme pain, when in fact he just had small bump in his head. Nash, on the other hand, stood his ground, and looked like nothing happened to him. He even helped Parker get back up on his feet. A minute later, blood oozed out of his nose – non-stop! That huge cut required six stitches after the game, and he did not whine, nor cry. He just wanted to play basketball. He desperately wanted to get back into the game, but the blood just would not stop flowing. Tell me, who’s the whiner? Nash? Again! Please!
Game Three could have gone Suns’ way if not for a lot of bad calls and Bowen’s dirty antics. Nash rarely complains, but when he does, it’s for real! Replays clearly showed Bowen grabbing him, hitting him, and tripping him. That’s why he could not get his game going. Bowen never got into foul trouble in any of the games despite his overly physical defense.
Then there’s that disgusting decision on suspending Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw prior to Game Five. Experts agreed that those two did not deserve any decision since they regained their composure in time and got to the bench. NBA Official Stu Jackson claimed that he has to follow the rule in black-and-white. Well, why aren’t Duncan and Bowen suspended? They clearly got on the floor when the James Jones-Elson scuffle occurred. Injustice!
Phoenix deserves to advance. They had so much adversity thrown against them by the bullish Spurs with the league backing them up. Their time could have been now, after all this is the only season that there are no injuries to key players. Joe Johnson was sidelined in the Conference Finals against the Spurs in 2005. Stoudemire and Kurt Thomas missed the most part of 2006. This 2007 Playoffs, they are complete, but circumstances forced them to be incomplete.
I don’t want to complain once again, but Bowen has been riding Nash in this Game Six encounter. Steve has been shouting at the refs to no avails. Calls were against the Suns once again. The non-call on Elson’s clear kick ball violation, Marion’s non-foul on Parker which was whistled, Bowen’s non-stop holding on Nash, and Amare’s save which was supposedly good. I can go on and on.
I wish Utah stamps their class, and show these bullies that they are full of sh*t! The Spurs do not deserve that Larry O’Brien trophy!
