And Minnesotta has been pretty much doing the same thing. They needed to start winning and they have done just that, winning their last four games.

Just before the season started, an upbeat Kevin “The Big Ticket” Garnett has promised an altogether different season. They missed the playoffs the last two years, even had the lowest record since 1996 (a year after KG was drafted) at 33-49 last year. But the addition of scoring guards Mike James and Villanova’s Randy Foye, who became MVP in the D-League, has made “The Big Ticket” optimistic for this season.

But the start of the season saw the Timberwolves going to a different direction. They were below .500 for the most part. They appeared to be heading to another disappointing lottery season.

But not if Garnett can help it! The T-wolves have begun to pick things up, and chemistry, which is such an integral part of their 2004 success where they went to the Western Conference Finals, has started to grow around them. And KG has gotten a lot of help from the least expected.

Foye, James and Ricky Davis have been cited by experts to help Garnett lift this team up before the season even began. But it has been highly-criticized seven-footer Mark Blount who has eased the burden on “The Big Ticket.” Minnesotta is on a four-game winning streak, and they have won their last three games via the overtime route.

The Timberwolves downed the San Antonio Spurs 103-101. Garnett led the pack with 27 points and 17 monstrous rebounds, while Blount heavily added 28 points.

Garnett shot a fade-away jumper over the outstretched arms of Samuel Dalembert with 3.3 seconds remaining to lift Minnesotta over the Philadelphia 76ers, 104-102 in OT. He had 25 points and 14 rebounds.

And Blount scored 21 points and grabbed 10 caroms in a winning cause against the Houston Rockets, 103-99. Garnett once again led his team with 26 points and 13 boards.

Blount has averaged 18 points for the last eight games, and has helped Minnesotta in making past .500 mark. They are now at 17-15. They are very much optimistic in going back to the postseason wars again in the highly competitive Western Conference.
